Fleet Foxes on ACL

I tried recording this the other night but somehow ended up with Head and the Heart's session instead. The Fleet Foxes/Joanna Newsom recording is available to stream until February 19.

I'll be routing this to the flat screen with some "sound enhancements". But you can watch it right here if you so wish:

Fleet Foxes Play Austin City LImits Sat. 1/21

Seattle's bearded bohemian brothers Fleet Foxes will play the best show on television, Austin City Limits, tomorrow night. They'll play tunes off their newest album, Helplessness Blues, and share the segment with Joanna Newsom. A good way to spend a snowy Saturday night in Upstate New York if you ask me.

Here's a behind the scenes look at the filming:

Fleet Foxes Live Concert Webcast TONIGHT!

See Fleet Foxes perform material off their new album, Helplessness Blues, tonight at 9:30 p.m. at NPRmusic.com. Helplessness Blues is the band's full-length follow-up to their 2006 self-titled debut album -- and, for those who like folk/rock melodies and great musicianship -- it kicks ass. The songs are well-crafted like a fine wine and the earthy tones fill your senses. Goes best with: A fishing trip deep into the Adirondack wilderness.

New Robin Pecknold (of Fleet Foxes) tunes

Check out Robin Pecknold's beautiful new acoustic jams on Stereogum. They are both organic and bright, reminiscent of Nick Drake and culling up scenes of a backwoods stream and a misty Dublin morn.

New Fleet Foxes ... Finally!

I was able to exhale this morning when I saw an article on RollingStone.com about Fleex Foxes long-awaited second album. None too soon, as I was openly begging for new Fleet Foxes here not long ago.

The new record will be called Helplessness Blues and is due out May 3. Word has it they recorded a good bit in upstate New York. From a band that calls the Pacific Northwest home, I can take a little more pride in my corner of the world.

Certainly has been a great source of inspiration for me.
